Perhaps it is that the mere mention of wine that leaves some thinking of the subject as an elitist topic too complicated to translate into an entertaining television series... Or part of the wine show’s dismissal is simply that it is so hard to get into a series about wine--with all of its tasting and sipping, adjectives and descriptions -- when you are sitting empty-handed and thirsty in front of your television or tablet. So what would happen if every viewer could SWIRL, SIP, and SLURP right there--alongside the experts -- wine in hand? NOW THEY CAN. KNOCKING WINE OFF ITS PEDESTAL DRINK is about knocking wine OFF ITS PEDESTAL and knocking one back (literally) as television viewers taste and drink along with the program. Each episode of DRINK lures viewers to wine through elements of food and travel as well as the unlikely addition of a truly interactive element in which each viewer can actually experience the wines for themselves. THE FIRST TRULY INTERACTIVE PROGRAM ON TELEVISION: POP THE CORK AND DRINK ALONG Each month television viewers can elect to receive a monthly SUBSCRIPTION of wines, recipes, and information that correspond with the upcoming programs. Three bottles of wine for every show will arrive at a viewer’s door (with an option for more if you plan on inviting friends and family). Viewers sit back, pop the cork, and with a glass of wine in hand, interact with each episode. Every viewer can now taste the exact wines the experts on screen are swilling, drinking and discussing. They can even share their own tasting notes with the world through our interactive social media platforms. WINE, PEOPLE, CULTURE, PLACE DRINK is a wine show that brings wine TASTING, FOOD, PEOPLE, and CULTURE together in one place. Aside from tasting, we venture out to vineyards to see where your wine comes from and meet the eccentric people that make it. Each week a GUEST WINE EXPERT (sommelier, chef, journalist, celebrity or hobbyist wine lover) guides us through a region. We head to the source to dig in the dirt and slip into the cellar as winemakers tell their stories firsthand. We highlight wines for EVERYDAY drinking as well as those that are truly spectacular. Our camera will uncover rare finds and visit rogue vintners that are pushing the boundaries of winemaking. Modern traditionalists and viticulturists of all kinds will share their perspectives and their stories in a fun, entertaining package. DIG IN THE DIRT & SLIP INTO THE CELLAR The central characters are REAL farmers and winemakers whose eccentricities are often beyond the best imaginations of scriptwriters. Stunning VISUALS of vineyards and the winemaking process transport viewers as images and the wine in their glass arouse the senses. What makes a wine taste like a place? Whose hands are shaping the wine? How are the characteristics and flavors of the wine created? These are just some of the stories that give character to a simple fruit. AWAY WITH THE INTIMIDATION... GRAB A GLASS & DRINK ALONG Away with the intimidation, this series’ purpose is to make wine FUN and INTERESTING. DRINK takes a lively, honest approach that demystifies wine, packaging it in an accessible, entertaining program. The content is informative, inventive and interactive--allowing every viewer to find a flavor and style of wine that speaks to them. DRINK is television with taste. DRINK is ground breaking television worth raising a glass to. Cheers!
