Nycci takes us to meet the makers, exploring the diverse landscape of farmers, foragers, fermenters, vintners, mixologists, bakers and brewers. It’s a road trip adventure that will leave you planning your next foodie finds.

Fresh, handcrafted, artisanal practices are prized and a movement toward preserving local food traditions is rapidly gaining a following. People of all ages and demographics are rejecting America’s fast food culture and are inspired to drink & eat handcrafted fare that is produced locally with care.

FOOD TRIP WITH NYCCI NELLIS is a PBS television series that celebrates the specialties of our diverse food landscape. From foodie finds to traditional treats, the series takes viewers off the beaten path to explore each region’s local offerings. 


Each episode is a roadtrip through a specific region where we meet the tastemakers that are defining the area while helping preserve our agricultural landscapes.

Our host is Nycci Nellis, renowned food, wine and hospitality insider. Nycci’s own curiosity guides us as we meet the tastemakers that are at the center of FOOD TRIP. We hear their stories, see them in action and get an insiders look at their operations from field to table. 


Nycci’s extensive knowledge of culinary makers from across the country offer an exclusive and unexpected adventure that uses food to delve deep into each region’s history, agriculture and future.

A CULINARY ROADTRIP

FOOD TRIP is a culinary road-trip  down the back roads of the region, crisscrossing the landscape we explore local specialties off the beaten path. 


At each stop we meet storybook characters that bring special meaning to each locale and product. 


We hear their inspirations and motivations, project on the future and explore the bigger picture of what it means to preserve these endeavors. 


New food and drink experiences are aplenty with varied personalities and an overwhelming sense of place. 

MEET THE MAKERS

Farmers reinventing themselves as brewers, urban foragers, country creameries, rogue vintners, distilled concoctions, artisan cheesemakers, brazen bakers, pickles and pint sized pigs are featured as FOOD TRIP traverses the region in search of quirky characters and delicious delicacies.  


Nycci takes us to meet a collection of people that are growing, catching, and crafting local products. We meet the producers, hear their stories, and see them in action. It is a very personal meeting with very passionate people.    

REGIONAL ROAD MAPS

In FOOD TRIP's inaugural season, we travel the mid-Atlantic to reveal the deep agricultural and historical roots that are unique to the region.  We uncover movements that are working to preserve land while feeding the appetites of local foodies, drinkers and adventurers. 


In each episode we dive deep into a specific geographic region to reveal its unique character and mission with Nycci revealing a host of characters and revelations about the past and future of these locales. 


Subsequent seasons branch out to explore the ever-growing movement on a national scale, offering a unique picture of America’s artisan producers and entrepreneurs. 


America has a treasure trove of culinary creativity and there are individuals ready to share their own unique story. . .

ON AIR SPONSOR SPOTS: 

All sponsors receive prominent on-air credit in each episode of the series broadcast. Sponsors receive two on-air messages in each episode that may include video sponsor spots, graphic or image and includes voiceover stating that “Major funding for the series is provided by…”.   


Sponsor messages appear in the opening and closing underwriter pods embedded in the series in perpetuity in all public television broadcasts. Sponsors are prominently recognized twice in every episode of the series. A maximum of two minutes is allotted for each sponsor pod, creating an uncluttered environment. Category exclusivity may by possible for major sponsors.
